Pupils at Newton Primary School in Porthcawl have been warming up for the Ogi Porthcawl 10K, taking part in a pop up ‘Ogi Jogi’ as preparations for July’s main event ramp up.

The afternoon festival of running, hosted by Ogi, welcomed over 200 pupils, parents and teachers to the school grounds, for an afternoon of racing including a colour fun run finale. The one mile and 800m races gave participants of all ages and abilities the chance to enjoy some time outside of the classroom, taking advantage of the recent good weather.

Taking part in the event, Ogi’s Head of Brand and Engagement, Sarah Vining, said: “It’s been a fantastic day at the Ogi Jogi and we’re now even more excited for the Ogi Porthcawl 10K next month!

“Community is big part of everything we do at Ogi, and days like today really showcase why that’s so important to us. Today we’ve been able to support the parent teacher association to fundraise for a new playground – a space that will help pupils at the school get outside more, ignite their imaginations and fuel discovery.

“I’m delighted today’s event has helped raise over £230, and pleased to say that Ogi will match the amount raised through our Cefnogi Community Fund.”

Spaces are still available for the Junior races that accompany the Ogi Porthcawl 10K on Sunday 2 July. Registration for the Fun Run, competitive Future Challengers and Toddler Dash races will close at midnight on Sunday 25 June.
