Ogi is heading back to Porthcawl on Sunday 7 July, as headline sponsor of the Ogi Porthcawl 10K and family fun run.
It follows the success of it’s first year of partnership in 2023, which saw fantastic community engagement, as well as an Ogi Jogi pop-up run, with pupils, parents and teachers from Newton Primary School spending an afternoon running to raise money for a new playground.
Steve Brace, Race Director at event organiser Run 4 Wales, said: “We’re thrilled to be teaming up with Ogi once again to put on the Porthcawl 10K. Like us they value the importance of community and it’s only through support with companies like them, that these events are viable.
“This run set in the seaside town renowned for its surf, sports and beautiful coastal walks is one of my favourites and we’re looking forward to welcoming thousands of runners to take part next year.
“They can expect a great atmosphere and will be able to run past several stunning landmarks including Rest Bay, Trecco Bay, Coney Bay, as well as the picturesque town centre, Grand Pavilion and the iconic Porthcawl Lighthouse.
“Local businesses were so supportive of last year’s event and we’re hoping we can build on this to make the 2024 event even bigger and better.”
Commenting at the launch, Head of Brand and Engagement, Sarah Vining, said: “We’re delighted to be returning as headline sponsor of the Ogi Porthcawl 10K for 2024. After a fantastic year in 2023 that saw thousands of runners take part in the main event, and hundreds of school children join our Ogi Jogi, we just couldn’t say no to returning to the historic Esplanade.
“As we continue our full fibre broadband rollout across Porthcawl, we hope 2024 will be an even bigger race, and can’t wait to get started on its planning with our partners at Run4Wales.”
The popular race which is a staple in many runners’ calendars since it was set up in 2019 will be part of Run 4 Wales’s 10K series. Eager runners can pre-register for the event now.
