Ogi has reached the milestone of 100 employees. The company has grown quickly since it launched its new brand, Ogi, in June this year, following an investment from Infracapital to deliver a £200m first phase business plan.
“We’re building an incredible team of talent at Ogi,” said Lisa Hand, People Experience Director. “So many people have been enthused by our mission to unlock the digital potential of Wales, and we’ve been able to recruit the absolute best of them.”
The jobs, part of the company’s first-phase plans, have been created right across the organisation, including in engineering and network delivery, as well as in customer service, IT, sales and marketing. They allow Ogi to begin on the work of reaching 150,000 homes and businesses across South Wales, providing customers with real full fibre broadband. The broadband company has future plans to expand beyond this initial build programme, to reach as many towns and villages in the area as possible.
“Besides our ambition to become one of the biggest private sector employers in the region, we’re committed to being one of the best,” added Lisa Hand. “Our growth is important, but it’s perhaps even more important to us that we’re able to retain and develop our people. “
“At Ogi, we understand the power of full fibre to level up the economy of Wales, and that starts with us. By attracting investment and creating jobs, our local economic impact is rippling right across south Wales and beyond, just as our ultrafast broadband network spreads too,” said Ben Allwright, CEO of Ogi, commenting on the news. “Everyone prospers when proper broadband delivers real opportunities, resilience and sustainability, and we have big ambitions to see Wales flourish.”
