We’re on the lookout for innovative digital inclusion projects up to the end of the year, as our award-winning community programme ‘Cefnogi’ opens for its eighth round.
The fund is inviting community groups to explore innovative approaches for promoting technology – specifically encouraging groups to think “outside the box” and use digital tools in creative and entertaining ways.
The goal is to engage initiatives that foster digital inclusion, where participants can learn something new – for example workshops that help build digital confidence, or groups looking to set up an online collaboration space.
Since its launch back in 2022, the Cefnogi programme has given thousands of pounds to local groups, charities and schools, with staff also volunteering over 3,000 hours in the community taking part in everything from litter picks to community garden builds.
During the summer round of the fund, ‘The Ogi Jogi’, saw over 2,000 people from 10 schools in south Wales, raise over £7,000 for their community classrooms. As the colder autumn months approach, the campaign shifts its focus to ensuring we all stay up-skilled and prepared for the next wave of digital innovations.
Opening the latest round, Community Engagement Manager, Louise Clement, said: “Technology plays a big part in all our lives today. From keeping up with the latest news, to booking an appointment at the GP – it’s making a difference all around us.
“Through Cefnogi, we want to make sure everyone in the community has the confidence to use all kinds of tech; helping to connect and build more resilient communities.
“We’re asking groups to think outside the box and come up with innovative ways to use and showcase the best of technology to the widest possible audience.”
Community groups can apply for up to £500 towards the cost of projects that promote digital inclusion in the community.
