Bounce Arrow

A proper pasty and even better broadband

At Ogi, we know great connections need the right ingredients – whether it’s full fibre broadband or a perfectly baked pasty. So, as we rollout full fibre in Cardiff, we thought we’d bring something extra to the table – the Ogi Oggie. A golden, flaky nod to the city’s finest.

Can't wait?

We’re rolling out these tasty treats ultrafast, but if you can’t wait, dim probs – here’s the recipe. Problem solved.

Ingredients

(Serves 4)

  • 500g plain flour, strong enough to handle high-bandwidth filling
  • 250g butter or vegan butter, chilled and diced for maximum connectivity
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 150ml cold water
  • 1 egg or half a cup of soy milk, for that smooth, buffer-free golden finish

For the filling

  • 300g lamb or beef, or veggie alternative
  • 1 leek, Welsh innit?
  • 1 large potato, ensures a balanced load across all devices (we mean, ingredients)
  • 1 small onion, boosting upload and download flavours
  • 1 tsp salt and pepper
  • 1 tbsp butter for frying

Method

1. Build your network (pastry)

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour and salt – your core infrastructure.
  • Rub in the butter until the mixture resembles fine breadcrumbs, making a well-connected base.
  • Gradually add cold water and mix until a smooth, lag-free dough forms.
  • Wrap in cling film and let it rest for 30 minutes.

2. Power-up the filling

  • Heat butter in a pan and add the chopped leek, onion, and potato.
  • Cook for a few minutes before adding the lamb or beef, keeping everything running at gigabit speed.
  • Season well, then let it cool slightly -this prevents any data (or delicious juices) from leaking!

3. Assemble your network (and Oggies!)

  • Roll out the dough and cut into circles (approx. 20cm diameter)
  • Load up one side with filling.
  • Fold over, crimp the edges like neatly routed cables, and seal with an egg wash for a strong connection.

4. Go live… bake!

  • Place on a baking tray and brush with egg wash.
  • Bake at 180°C (fan) for 30-35 minutes until crisp, golden, and running at full speed.
